Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organizes the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the recruitment of teachers for Primary (I to V) and Elementary (VI to VIII) level. CTET exam is conducted twice a year in July and December. As per the latest update released on March 23, 2021, over 30 lakh candidates applied for the CTET July session. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam is divided into two levels –

  • Primary (Paper I)
  • Elementary (Paper II)

CTET 2021 Notification Out: Central Board of Secondary Education conducts CTET exam every year for assessing the eligibility of teachers for primary and upper primary classes. It welcomes applicants who are interested to take forward their careers in the teaching sector. CTET is the central teacher eligibility test, based on which the candidates can apply for various vacancies in various government and government-aided schools. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam will be conducted in online mode from this year and CTET December 2021 exam will be the 15th Edition of the CTET Exam for examining the candidates for their teaching eligibility.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year by CBSE at the national level for determining the eligibility of candidates for teacher posts for Classes 1 to 8 in Central Government Schools such as NVS/KVS and other Schools etc. CTET Exam was previously conducted in offline mode, this will be the first time when CBSE has scheduled CTET 2021 for online mode (CBT test). The validity of CTET has been extended for a lifetime period. States that do not conduct TET Exam select candidates through CTET Examination.

As per the notification released for CTET 2021 exam, CTET December 2021 Exam is going to be conducted from 16th December 2021 to 13th January 2022 in 20 languages. As Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET 2021) will be conducted in online mode for the first time, therefore the candidates are advised to prepare accordingly with the updated pattern for CTET 2021.

CTET Exam Date for CTET 2021 December exam has already been announced by the CBSE along with CTET official notification. As per the latest notification of CTET, the CTET online examination will be conducted from 16th December 2021 to 13th January 2022. CTET 2021 Application Fee

A candidate belonging to either the General or OBC category is required to pay Rs. 1000/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 1200/- (if applying for both the papers). The same amount is reduced to Rs. 600/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 600/- (if applying for both the papers) for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

CTET 2021 Exam Pattern

CTET 2021 Exam will be conducted in two phases:

  1. Paper I
  2. Paper-II

Paper I is conducted for candidates who have been looking forward to becoming teachers for Class 1 to 5 and Paper II is conducted for candidates who aspire to become teachers for Class 6 to 8. Candidates also have the option to apply for both Paper-I and Paper-II. Questions asked in both Paper I and Paper II are Objective Multiple Choice Questions. A candidate is required to score a minimum of 60% to qualify CTET 2021 Exam. One major thing to note is that the CTET score is now valid for a lifetime as announced by CBSE.

Education Qualification

To apply for CTET, if you apply for primary stage teacher then you must have passed 12th with 45% marks. If you want to apply for Elementary Teacher, then you should have graduation with 45% marks and 12th pass with 50% marks.

What is CTET?

CTET is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8.
