Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting the CTET 2021 examination in December 2021 or January 2022 in online mode for the first time ever. As per the CTET Director, the move of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) online will motivate the teachers to become computer literate and will also save the paper wastage on account of printed OMR sheets and question papers.
The CTET 2021 exam will be conducted as per the vision of the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. There will be certain changes in the conduct of the CTET 2021 examination. The CBSE will soon release the detailed assessment framework for the CTET exam with measurable competencies, sample questions and blueprints to enable aspiring candidates to prepare for the CTET.
CTET exam to be conducted online
It will be the first time ever since the beginning of the conduct of CTET that the exam will be held in online mode. Until now, the exam was conducted offline in pen and paper mode wherein candidates were required to mark their answers in an OMR sheet. However, now the exam will be conducted online as a computer-based test. The move would also facilitate faster processing and declaration of CTET results. The decision has been taken in line with the new NEP 2020 that emphasizes digital literacy, digital pedagogy, the use of technology and its integration for a digitally empowered society.
